The colonial fate of Australia & the US

I had never thought, before Norm pointed it out in class, about the link between the American revolution and the British colonial program in other parts of the world. Having lost the wealth and resources from the American colonies, Britain turned elsewhere. Australia was colonized right at the time that the white colonists in the U.S. were throwing off the yoke of British rule. There is a direct causal link between U.S. independence from Britain and the colonization of Australia. Our two nations are bound together with karmic ties.
